STORY

Solène is a Parisian art lover living in Tokyo, in the traditional area of Asakusa. She's working as a fashion photographer, and for many years, she is hunting, collecting, beautiful and precious Kimonos and related items, selecting them according to their uniqueness.

Once she was in one of her favorite shops, chatting with the Japanese owner, the woman said :

« This is all traditional, but wear it your way! ».

Solene then decided to open and share her collection to all, mixing traditional and contemporary pieces, France and Japan, in a minimalist and refined look, for a timeless  and borderless selection.

WHAT IS KOMOREBI 木漏れ日?

Komorebi is the Japanese word for the light filtering through the branches of a leafy tree

木 means “tree”, 漏れ is the verb “moreru” that means “come through”, and 日 is the kanji for sunlight.

A delightful moment full of simple poetry, and the feeling of being touched by light.

Just as this light, clothes and human artefacts are crossing time and space, to finally reaches us. This process is highly fascinating me, not only by the historical value, but by this feeling of surviving time, getting over it, to reach a new life.

This is why vintage and recycling are so important to me, in the area of fast fashion but with limited ressources, sustainable and second-hand shops feels like a way both to keep history alive, but also to protect our future.
